David's Accident

Okay, So most of you know about David's accident but I really want to blog about it so that I can have it in a book for future generations to look back and see. Sooo Here goes. January 15, 2010 I was having a normal morning. David and Alecia had woke up early and went to seminary. David teaches and Alecia is in 10th grade. David came home after dropping the students off at school and we did our morning family scripture study and prayers. After we were done I sent Brandon and Katie on there way to school and started to make lunch for the little ones. It was around 7:20 a.m when Katie and Brandon come running in screaming and crying. I heard Jessica, Daddy, Truck hit. So you can imagine my panic when I went outside and see David on the ground crying. I really thought that I had just lost my youngest daughter. I kept yelling where is Jessica? I couldn't see her anywhere and I was really getting scared when I saw her with the other kids. She was fine so I knew that it must be David who was hurt. So I went over and found out what had happened. He was in so much pain and I knew that there was nothing I could do so I held him in my arms and said a short prayer out loud that he would be okay and that he wouldn't be in pain. After that, He told me his leg was broken and that I needed to call 911. Well at this point I was way relieved that it was just a broken leg and not a dead member of my family, and me being the frugal person that I am, I asked David if he thought he could help me get him in the car and I would drive him to the hospital. Hmmm not such a good idea but hey I was thinking it would save us money. I asked David what had happened and he told me that he had been backing out when he remembered something he needed to get. He threw the car into park and jumped out. The car didn't go into park it was in reverse and the door knocked him down before he could get back in and fix the problem. Once he was knocked down the truck ran over his leg. When I realized how bad it was I made the call and they came lights and sirens blaring up to the house. Now you call for help and boy do they send help. I had two fire trucks, two police cars and an ambulance outside of my house. (One of our neighbors later on came over and asked if David was dead). Well at least we know if we need help it will come. They got David's shoe off and cut his pant leg so that they could splint it and got him in the ambulance. The kids were still having a major break down so I went in and prayed with them that they would be comforted and that David would not be in a lot of pain. Then I told them that they were staying home and went to get Alecia from school. I left the kids at home and went to the hospital to see what was going on. It looked like his ankle had been crushed so I was really having a hard time but kept praying that all would turn out okay. The missionaries came to the hospital and gave David a blessing. I know that it was a major help. I am so thankful that our Heavenly Father loves us so much and helps us went we are in need of His help. I am also very thankful that the priesthood power is here on the Earth so that we can use it in times of great need. I continued to pray and I know that the Lord was at work. When the Doctors and confounded you know that it is coming from above. David leg was indeed broken. In fact the doctors said that it was strange because these breaks generally need surgery. However because all the broken pieces were together then they would treat it conservatively. They kept him overnight and put a cast on it. I hoped to bring him home on Saturday but they kept him until Monday afternoon. We are still dealing with this but with the Lord's help we are getting through it.

I'm Back!!!

Okay, so I have been away for a while but I'm back!!! Yippee!!! I have internet at home again. Oh boy I just don't know what to do. I am soooo excited that I can finally get back to my lovely blog and let all my dear friends know what is going on in my life.

Now as for what is going on, (as always it's very eventful) my darling husband id laid up in bed with his leg raised to a position above his heart. The only thing that he can do for himself is go to the bathroom. Hmmm He finally doesn't need me for that. Anyway, I went to Wal-mart today and bought a universal remote because he said he needed one or I would be it. Not that I don't just love being able to serve my husband but I can think of better things to do with my time than to be a remote. So now he can change the channel or turn the volume up. One less thing for me to do. I still have to get his food, water, and anything else that he can think of that he wants. OOO the joys of an invalid. No really it's not that bad but I really love to tease him. He has really been a wonderful patient and I am very impressed with how much he can get done from his bed. I really am thankful that Heavenly Father gave me such a wonderful man to spend my eternities. He has kept the faith and has turned to our Savior for the help that he needs. I truly am a blessed woman.
