Last night we went to wonderful concert at church. Alex Boye (sp) a member of the Mormon Tabernacle choir and a few friends came to the church. They started the kick off of a wonderful art exhibit "Reflections of Christ". They first showed a documentary of the making of these photographs (Michelle you would love it!) It was so awesome. They put a lot of thought planning scripture study and prayer into these great representations of events in Christs life. I was very touched throughout this whole video presentation. I also enjoyed the music what an understatement! It was AWESOME. I just love to hear music at its best. They sang songs like Amazing Grace and Be still my Soul. OOOOO it just gave me goose bumps.
One of my favorite things was when Alex Boye talked about an experience he had. He is very charismatic. He told of meeting a girl whom he had known before. He off handedly asked her how she was and then was told after 2 hours. She told him of a life of very hard experiences, cutting her wrists, children from three men, and drug addictions. She came from a strong family who taught her the gospel and about Christ but she fell away. He didn't know what to tell her but he prayed really hard and felt that he should tell her to take him to her car and get in. So that is what they did. Then he felt inspired to ask to see her CD collection. When she showed him it was full of inappropriate music. He asked her to let him have her collection for a week. Very timidly and not wanting to she agreed. She called him two days later telling him that she had felt better than ever. Then he asked what we would be willing to give up for our Savior. Oh the spirit was so strong. There were definitely things in my life that I want to do better and I renewed my commitment to my Heavenly Father. So check our the church bookstores and look for the music, Dvd and book for the Reflections of Christ. I think there is also a web site if I find it I will post a link later.

Random thought
Okay so I have been watching the headlines of news and they are not promising. They tell us of a world that is falling apart financially, people who have no idea how to live properly, and then the really wicked who kill, rape and pillage for fun. So how in a time with so much chaos are we supposed to have a good life. The gospel teaches if ye are prepared we shall not fear. I may not be completely prepared but I do not worry to much. I turn of the t.v. and ignore the Internet headlines. I try to live the gospel, I am not perfect I still procrastinate and my house is by far not the cleanest in the world and I still have my problems with loving to read to an excess. However, I also know that my children are being taught the gospel principles that will help them in the world that they will lead. I know that they are gaining testimonies of our Savior Jesus Christ and they will be fine. So despite the bad press my life is good.

Procrastination in Progress
Okay, so I was supposed to get the storage unit empty yesterday. Well it didn't happen. I did however get a good amount done and threw away a ton of stuff. Who knew how much junk you can accumulate and think it is worth something!! Michelle, So far I have not found the bear and do not have much hope for finding it but the shed isn't empty yet so who knows it may be there somewhere. Anyway the kids had a good day today. They got to have their Valentines day party and they also had quarter day. (someone didn't plan to well because that is a lot of junk food coming home) I sent cookies to school with Jared and Jessica. Bethany got to go on a field trip to see Peter Pan. She was way excited about that. So its Friday again and David and I will get to go out for date night but we also want to do something tomorrow for Valentines day so we will try to keep it simple tonight.

Storage Unit Woes
Well life here is pretty dandy. I am trying to get the motivation up to clean out the portable storage shed. I have managed to do a little each day but I just don't want all that stuff back in the house. I mean really we've lived without it for the past5 months so do I really need to clutter up the house again. I can't even tell you what is left in it. I have gotten all the important stuff out. You know clothes pictures and dishes. So who in the world needs all those books and junk. However if I don't get all those books out David is going to have a Holy conniption cow fit. Ya you read that right sounds weird but Hey hes a book freak. I mean we have books that i would never read never want to read and can't imagine anyone ever wanting to read. Oh well I love him so I guess I can deal with his little idiosyncrasies. I know I have mine. Well I have to get it completely cleaned out by tommorrow night so that it can be picked up Friday. Having a personal storage unit it my front yard is conveniant but quite expensive and it is also very ugly.
So anyway that is what I will be up to all day tomorrow oh and I also have to get all the stuff ready for the kids Valentines parties at school. I have to make cookies and get cards and who knows what else. Why in the world do I procrastinate. I should have learned a long time ago that it never pays. However anytime there is something that needs to be done that I don't want to do I say oh it will wait until tomorrow. Oh well I guess I can't be perfect darn it LOL.

All of the quilts in the pictures of the children were made by my very dear friend, Michelle Huguley. Thank you Michelle for our wonderful blankets. Watch for a link to her web site later!

Children and remembering
I am so happy to be a mom. I love the energy that I watch in my children and pray that just half of the energy would kind of rub off on me as they are sitting on my lap or giving me a hug. I can watch Jared as he runs around the house at top speed without taking a minute to breathe and Jessica as she prances around like a little ballerina. Krystal, Bethany and Jessica love to put on plays or acts for me. One of them will play the guitar while the rest of them dance and sing. Jessica likes to be the lead singer. She will hold the toy microphone in front of her while she makes up songs. How cute can you get.
I remember doing the same thing with my best childhood friend Dawn. We would come up with plays and sing songs that we learned off of movies. Some of our favorites: The Sound of Music and Greese (okay I have watched this as an adult after my kids had watched it several times O my Gosh!!! It is intirely inappropiate and I had no idea what I was singing when I was little.)
I can get quite nostalgic watching my little ones as they do things that I remember doing.

The End of Subbing? and other thoughts
Okay, so life has calmed down a lot for me and I don't want to go back to the way things were. Soooo I am trying to decide if it was worth the little bit of money that I was making to substitute teach was worth the hassel that it brought. Lets see, I finally have all the kids in school (which quite frankly I am not as happy about that as it sounds) and I am too busy to enjoy the peace and quiet. This last week I have not been called into work so I have been enjoying the time that I have to do house work and relax, go to the store with out kids and relax, run errands and you guessed it relax. I have been able to go back to helping my darling children with their homework and I don't feel stressed out of my mind. I can make dinner and enjoy talking with my kids without wanting to send them to Egypt just because they are playing. I can do my calling and not feel like I have to take away time that is precious from my family because I am spending time with them. I think that maybe it is time for me to realize that there is a time for every season and right now it is my time to be a mom, a stay at home mom that does not try to add substitute teaching to the list, the long list of things that must be done as a mother of seven.
Sometimes I get a little side tracked but the Lord always brings me back to the present and helps me to see what is the most important thing in my life and that is my family. For all you stay at home moms out there I think you will appreciate this next statement. Why is it that we are treated as if we are completely brain dead?? I have a brain and I am very knowlegable. I work twice as hard as a lot of people with no children. So when people ask me what I do and I say that I am a stay at home mom it is completely crazy for me to feel as if I am some kind of a lesser person. I am a mom and that is the greatest job in the world. When you are a mom you are a chef, dietician, maid, taxi driver, psycologist, teacher, nurse ..... okay so you get the picture. Well this is kind of a crazy post but it is how I'm feeling so I guess I am going to close my eyes and just publish it.
