Sabbath Day!
Today is Sunday and I woke up with a stomach ache and having to go to the bathroom, not the best way to start my Sabbath Day. So I told David and was still planning on going to church until he told me it wasn't such a good idea. We all stayed home because I am the only one who could drive. It turned out to be a very relaxing and spiritual day. To start with we decided that we would have a testimony meeting with our family because it's testimony meeting at church. We sang "Keep the Commandments" and then had a prayer. I read a little about how we need to be Valiant in the cause of Christ. It was in the May 2009 New Era. After that all the children bore their testimony. It is so amazing to see the growth in my children. I love to hear them testify of Christ. We closed with singing "I'm trying to be like Jesus" and saying a closing prayer.
After our little impromptu meeting, I had the kids work on their church programs (Personal Progress, Duty to God, and Faith in God). The children, all except for Jared and Jessica, had fasted for my sister and we closed with a prayer and let them eat. It is so fun to see that they can learn the concepts of the gospel from such an early age.
We had a really fun afternoon playing games together as a family (Thank you Michelle). Banana Grams and Guesstures are very fun. Some of the kids like Banana Grams but all of them like to play Guesstures. It was funny watching them try to act out words. We laughed and had a really great time.
I am planning on making Chicken Enchilada's for Dinner. I am just basking in the glow of peace and comfort that came with this wonderful Sabbath Day.

My Friend, Michelle
My friend Michelle is a very wonderful person. She has been my friend for 7 years. Heavenly Father sent her into my life at a time that I needed someone to help me through the most devastating event. I had lost my Daddy to a fight with cancer in August and Michelle moved into our town in October. She came with her husband and 5 beautiful children. Michelle is my yin or yang, Hmm I'm not sure which. Umm you get the picture. She is the opposite of me in many ways but the same in more ways that matter. When she came it took us a couple of months to really get acquainted but once we did we were inseparable. I would visit at her house and we would do lots of things. Michelle is the project queen and always had something going on at her house. We had the same number of children and it was fun to get together with someone who understood a large family. I knew that when she invited me over that she knew what she was getting into and vice versa. Not long after we met I found out that I was pregnant with twins. Wow. She had already had twins and was there to mentor me through the experience. Man was she a lot of help!!! It was even crazier when I had boy/girl twins because her twins are boy/girl. The similarities didn't end there because not long after I got pregnant Michelle found out that she was expecting again, not twins but she did have a wonderful healthy little boy and then she got pregnant one more time and it evened us up to 7 children each. Not that she tried to match me but well lets just say Heavenly Father knows us so much more than we know ourselves. My dear friend and I made it through a difficult experience and wound up closer because of the problem. I just recently thought of the scripture in 2 Nephi that says, "there must be opposition in all things". In order to appreciate what we had we needed to go through a period of not having it. I am so thankful that Heavenly Father sent me such a great friend. I love her so much and know that she loves me. Michelle, thank you for all the laughs, hugs, tears, guidance, counsel, and well just everything that you have done for me. You are truly an eternal friend.
The Half Cast
David had another doctor appointment today. I was so excited to learn that he would get his cast taken off and a half cast put in its place. When they took off his cast it was kind of amazing. They used this really scary looking electric saw to cut the cast. I was worried that it might cut David but they assured me that it wouldn't. I took pictures of the procedure but it was on my cell phone and I'm not sure how to get them onto my blog. After they cut it with they saw they took another tool and popped it open. David said that they cracked him open like a nut. Weird but that it was it looked like. Then the great reveal. His leg was out of the cast but he had to be careful not to move it. He started scratching but the nurse told him to stop because it was very thin skin and he could hurt himself. Poor thing his leg has been itching for a while and when he can finally get to the itch he still couldn't scratch.LOL Anyway, after taking off the cast they put on a lighter half cast and this will stay on for a week. If I can figure out how I might post some pictures of the procedure later.

Katie is 12!
Oh my goodness it is soooo hard to believe that my beautiful, spirited Katie Girl is 12. She has been looking forward to this day for a very long time. I am sooo proud of her, I told her about 6 months ago that she needed to work really hard so that she can finish off her Faith in God requirements so that she can earn her award. She worked hard and memorized all 13 of the Articles of Faith and then made sure she completed the requirements. All she needs to do now is talk to the Bishop and she will have completed the requirements. I have tried really hard to make sure that it was them earning the awards so I just remind them (okay maybe I nag a little LOL) and then let them do what they are going to do. Alecia earned hers but Brandon didn't and now Katie has followed her sisters example.
Michelle was still here so she was able to celebrate with us. I really enjoyed having a shopping companion to help me decide what to buy. I had told Michelle how much Katie wanted contacts because she really hates wearing her glasses and she helped me to see that Katie was old enough. So Katie got a contact appointment for her birthday from Michelle, Robert, David and me. She also got a very cute outfit, a purple shirt and black skirt with a silver necklace and a scrapbook for her YW years.
I really love my Katie Rose.

Frustration and A Huge Surprise!
Hmm, how shall I start this blog entry. First of all I need to try to express the extreme frustration that came before the big reveal. Soooo, about a week and a half ago David told me that he needed me to help him out on Feb. 25. He had also told me that he would need me for the whole weekend. I thought that maybe one of his employees wouldn't be able to help him so I asked him what he would need me to do. He said "Stuff". So then I ask him what stuff and he said "Taxes". Hmm not much information for needing me all weekend and on such a specific time. So I continue to try to get some information out of him and he was being deliberately vague. Hind sight lets me know why but I have to say that while I was going through this I was getting really upset with David. So I continued throughout the week to try to figure out what he needed me to do. Finally Wednesday comes and I was talking to my visiting teaching companion and setting up a time to go out with her. David told me that I couldn't go!!!!!! What the heck was that, I mean what in the world could be more important than doing my visiting teaching. So I asked him if what he needed me to do was more important and he said yes. Then I was really getting ready to blow when David told my I could either trust him or feel stupid later. So I calmed down a little, I can't lie I wasn't completely calm but could anyone else out there honestly say that they would be under the same circumstances. Any way so I wake up on Thursday thinking I have no idea what I need to do at the office today but it's going to be big and a lot of work. I dropped all the kids off at school and then went to the office to report for duty. I get there and David asked me to pick something up, then I had to call a number that no one would answer for at least 30 minutes, he had me sitting waiting for him because something came up that he had to take care of. I have to say by now I was really ready to blow but I was trying really hard to be a good wife and didn't want to get upset for nothing. David decided that we needed to go to lunch but when we left he told me that he had hurt his leg and needed to take a pain pill. Oh my was I really worried and even asked him if he needed me to take him to the hospital. He told me no he would be okay once he took the medicine so I hurried home, trying to go slow over the speed bumps. As soon as I got home I jumped out of the car and ran inside and brought him his medicine and a glass of water. He took it and I was ready to take him to lunch when he told me that Mike had called and wanted to show me some cabinets for the kitchen. So I started to get suspicious. What in the world has my darling husband cooked up. Mike drives up and backs the trailer into our driveway. I was waiting for David to go over but Mike said that I needed to come see because it was for me. When he opened the door I got the best surprise of my life. There stood my bestest friend with some balloons. She had flown all the way from Tennessee just to see me. I have to say I was so excited that I screamed and then ran to give her a hug. I couldn't believe that she had done that just for me. I felt sooo loved!!! I really can't express how much this meant to me. She knew that I was under a lot of stress and needed some help and she came and relieved the pressure. Thank you Michelle for such a wonderful surprise. I will remember it for the rest of my life and into the eternities. You are truly my eternal friend whom heavenly Father sent to help me through this life. I love you bunches. Teresa
Also I want to thank everyone who helped with the surprise It was great!!! Robert thank you so much for letting me borrow your wife for a few days.

Jessica as Flower Girl
Jessica was the flower girl for her Uncle Ryan and Aunt Lauren's wedding. I think her hair turned out precious. Of course as a doting mother I really took a lot of pictures so here are some of my favorites!
